Aumento Mamário

Breast augmentation mammoplasty involves the placement of silicone implants to add volume to small breasts or to restore volume lost after weight loss, post-pregnancy weight loss, or decrease in breast volume after breastfeeding, without sagging. Performed with anesthesia (which can be either local sedation or general), prosthesis placement can be sub glandular if placed under the mammary gland or submuscular if placed under the pectoral muscle. The incision for prosthesis placement is usually made just below the breasts. It may also be on the aureola and rarely in the armpit, to hide the scar as much as possible.

Guilherme Graziosi M.D. recommends that the decision concerning the place of incision and prosthesis placement be made after a conversation between surgeon and patient since all the available alternatives have their pros and cons.
